You are so right. How does enticing a reader of my story to go read something else building my relationship with that reader? If Medium wanted to do that, they'd put links to our other stories in that right sidebar. They'd share their algorithm for what makes it into that sidebar.

How often are OUR stories being promoted in other writer's stories? This sounds like a benefit for Medium's bottom line for engagement, being sold as a benefit to individual writers.
