Wonderful piece, Julie! My Dad was ever the jokester. My Mom had lost a lot of her sight due to macular degeneration, but she was helping me hem a slippery piece of fabric for a curtain for my apartment. As she was hand stitching the hem, my Dad joked about this being what they call a blind hem. He once planted a big kiss on my uncle's mouth at a family picnic for the sake of shaking things up. He did the "silly walk" thing with my nephew, his grandson.

I wouldn't say Mom was humorless, but Dad was for sure the quipster. I take after him in that regard, sometimes to my detriment in the workplace. Well, don't have to worry about that anymore!
