While I cannot dispute your personal experience, your clients are a tiny, tiny segment of people on Advantage plans. I read widely and in fact, there are lots of problems with those plans. The other issue is that they siphon off money from Medicare, which pays those insurance companies a certain amount every month, more if the insurance company can "show" the member is sicker. Some insurance companies game the system by sending out nurses to "upcode" people's degree of illness. If that money was not going to insurance companies, Medicare itself could cover routine dental, hearing, and vision needs, according to analysis I've read by folks like Robert Reich. Insurance companies are bleeding Medicare with these plans.
