When I was a teenager, I envisioned myself being a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist. Except I was too shy to interview people. But I did end up writing for a national weekly newspaper, got front page stories, and awards.
When I was a 30-something, I dreamed about being a star graphic designer at a famous design studio. I did end up at two design studios and won some awards, too.
And yet, I have often felt like a failure. So thanks, Kasey, for prompting to stop and reframe. What I've accomplished is beyond the wildest dreams of my parents or siblings.
