When I had a yet-to-be-diagnosed B12 deficiency, it got to the point that I had to draw myself a step by step diagram for how to make my cappuccino. I couldn't remember a 6 digit number for more than one second. I've lived alone my entire adult life outside of a few years with roommates. No children. Only remaining family member is a brother 9 years older, in ill health, and 600 miles away. I have 3 dear friends of 25+ years, only two of whom live nearby. I worry often, usually at 5 am, about what happens when I can no longer drive or remember to use the right credit card.
