This year, I went back to Arrowmont Crafts School. Instead of my checking in with a human taking down my info, said human had me scan a QR code to then enter in all my info in a form in the world of Microsoft. Ridiculously a PITA trying to type on a phone, not to mention being required to give my full DOB to the cloud.
I complained loudly midway through about what about people who don't have a smartphone and only then was I told I could have filled out a paper form. Then the young woman tried to shame me by saying this method was done to make things more accessible for everyone. Total and utter corporate speak she was trained to spout. Last I checked, pen and paper are pretty dang accessible and widely available. This was just to save someone having to do data entry.
I told them when they asked for feedback later that the school didn't need my exact DOB and I gave them a fake one which will screw up their demographic reporting, out of spite.
