The max UE benefit is in Massachusetts, it's $800 a week. And that's for someone who had the highest paying job, not a Home Depot wage slave. Lasts for 26 weeks. When I was out of work in 2018, in Maryland, my benefit was $375 a week. That didn't even cover rent, let alone food and utilities. It was a FRACTION of my salary. But, yeah, I lazed around eating bon bons.
The $600 a week government boost ended September 2021. If that resulted in people making more to not work, the problem was with the pay, not the worker. Surely every business owner makes the same monetary calculation in choosing vendors as those workers; or does Home Depot choose the most expensive vendor?
