This is similar, in my mind, to the companies that buy domain names solely for the purposes of selling them, or the patent “trollers.” What hope does an individual have against a company who can afford a horde of lawyers? Who has the resources to fight Apple or Microsoft or AirBnB to say that my variation of a UI pattern isn’t infringing on theirs?
