Such a wonderful story, so vividly and touchingly told. I too was the "baby" in the family. I became an adult orphan at age 52, and I'd lost my older sister when I was only 36. I never married or had children, but I witness my friends' role changes with their adult kids. Thanks for this lovely piece.
