Question: if a justice' politics don't matter why has the GOP been fighting tooth and nail to get their nominees appointed (to SCOTUS and federal courts), and to block Democratic President's nominees from even having a hearing? And please don't tell me it just has to do with "judicial philosophy" when that philosophy seems to be applied when convenient, and ignored when not.
