Not true for me, but then again, the last 3 jobs I had before retiring were with coworkers 20 to 30 years my junior, in very different phases of life. I had no interest in using the workplace as a friendship substitute. What made me retire 3 years later than planned (at 62) was a year of under employment and then this little thing called covid.

I've been retired now for about 7 months and am delighted at this phase of life.
