Laughing at this one. I recently asked coworkers about a Nespresso machine. Various folks raved about it. Said it was "a bit pricey" though. Then I looked up how much it would cost to make espresso at home: about 4x what I currently spend using an old manual espresso machine. I'm heading into retirement. I'm not going to quadruple the cost of my coffee. I actually decided to tell folks that I couldn't justify that cost. I am financially solidly middle class after growing up blue collar, first gen college. I am very judicious on what I spend money on so that I can afford to retire. For many of my professional peers, I'm sure I come off as cheap. They think nothing of dropping $100+ a month on food delivery fees, for example. Okay, I AM cheap. I'll wave at y'all money wasters from my post-work perch.
