Kerala, you raise a legitimate point about the disparity in valuing caring professions, which have proportionately more women. Historically, when what was a man's occupation (secretary) became dominated by women, pay went down.

Having said that, I think the issue of Clark's salary is a separate topic, and has more to do with the economics of pro sports in this country. By conflating the two, it feels as if you are undercutting your most important point. My two cents.

BTW: I played full court pick up basketball from my late 20s until the pandemic, mostly against other women, sometimes in mixed groups at the Y. I absolutely love the game and miss playing. Team sports has been central to my life since high school. I'm pleased to be able to watch WNBA games on ABC.
