I've thought many times about getting a tattoo of the kanji character for chrysanthemum, as that was a nickname a middle school art teacher gave me, a play on my first and middle names and the fact that—in those days at least ;-)—I was very quiet. But I debated about where to get it. Then I was friends for a few years with a nuclear medicine tech who told me horror stories about what happened to tattoos on aging skin.
Now I worry about infection, I'm not long quiet, and I still can't figure out where I would have it done.
There are some lovely tattoos out there. However, David Bromstad has, in my view, taken it way too far, to the point that I and other HGTV fans wonder if there's some psychological issue he's grappling with.
