It's as bad, if not worse, in tech recruiting. I've gotten so many bizarre irrelevant emails from recruiters that I wrote a piece on it.

No, I'm not interested in that "great" opportunity to be an audio technician or a software engineer, and no, I'm not taking a job in Texas when I live in Virginia. Actually, if I lived in Texas, I'd be moving.

No, I'm not going to send you an updated resumé, because obviously you didn't read the one I already uploaded to LinkedIn.

Now when I get random solicitations like this, I just send them the friend link to the story.

It's quite satisfying. Many of these "recruiters" are just trying to snag another H1B visa after "proving" there aren't any qualified Americans for the jobs. It's a poorly kept secret.
