I'm retired and living on that clichéd fixed income. If I subscribed for money to every newsletter I got, and donated to every publication, I would have to cut out eating a few days of each month.

More depressing is that within a couple of days of donating, I'll be asked for more money.

And if I donate my time such as writing letters to voters, I'll be asked to write ever more letters. It's incessant. I've vowed to never again donate to political campaigns ever.

This is late stage capitalism in my view. The 99.9 percent are all hustling to try to make a living scrapping for money from each other.
