I'm one of those older people. Looking to retire and own rather than rent. But condo/townhome prices are much higher than a year ago, and the condo fees are often double what the mortage would be. I saved up for what I thought was a reasonable budget in retirement and it's not looking likely unless I want to move into a tiny tiny place—not my idea of a good life.
