I'm not sure what the term "faster" is based on. It literally takes 23-25 seconds for each article page to fully load on my tablet, and I have high speed Internet. I just timed it. It's a big tease, the page appears to load with the beginning of the article, then loading recommences to get the entire page. Happens for every single article. Even on my desktop, there is a noticeable lag. It's like a time machine back to the days of dial up. Two different browsers, two different operating systems.
And as to the concept of "relational", relational would be showing other articles BY ME in the right sidebar, so readers can establish a relationship with ME, not get sent off to read other writers.
In the interests of transparency, how about sharing details on the algorithm Medium is using to put "related" articles in our stories. Does it favor writers with small followings or large? What is the method by which topic relatedness if arrived at?
I'd like data that would convince us writers that you aren't just whisking readers off elsewhere before they finish reading our work, thus undercutting our payments. It's to your financial benefit to have readers flitting from writer to writer, not necessarily to ours. How many times are you promoting my stories in other writer's stories?
Sorry, Medium, but waving your hands and telling us how wonderful this is doesn't make it so.
