I’m not convinced dark mode is better for your eyes. The devil is in the details: For example, Pixelmator’s UI is dark mode, but the interface text (think tool labels, info text) is a medium gray and about 10px in size. I am constantly straining to use the software. Bottom line: pay attention to contrast, color values, and size of all pieces of the UI for dark mode: it’s more than turning the background black.
