If it's of any help, I got a UX design job at a startup at age 58, and then, a senior UX designer job (that I just retired from), at age 62. Got laid off from start-up, did some temp work, and found the most recent job a year later, at a national media company. So it's possible, but you might have to go in-house in a non-tech firm.
