I was in the running for a fellowship with the US Digital Service about 5 years ago. They are doing excellent work by focusing on specific agencies such as the VA. During interviews, they asked how I would handle not being allowed to bring a laptop on site or be required to use outdated software in UX work. I then realized that this wasn't an environment for me and I couldn't hide that from the interviewer. I'm not sure USDS survived the Trump administration. Not surprising, as competence wasn't rewarded. 😂
