I was complaining to a coworker last week that every time I have to open Illustrator to do something, I want to tear my hair out. I live in Figma. It's simple, clean, and the UI makes sense. Then there's Illustrator, where all the layers from every artboard are all mixed together, and finding how to access a needed tool becomes like a scavenger hunt.
I used to be extremely skilled in Photoshop and InDesign, and pretty good in Illustrator. We're talking in the days before the subscription model. Now I dread having to open any of those apps and get work done in a reasonable timeframe.
As I am about to retire, I have found alternatives to Adobe's costly apps: the Affinity products. When you are living on a fixed income, dropping $50 a month for the "privilege" of using bloated apps loses its appeal, if it ever had one!
