I think we designers understand the differences, and the design managers do know what aspects of the work a UX vs UI vs Interaction Designer does. Where the UX/UI “title” becomes a problem is when working in a larger organization where product owners don’t have a design background, but a business development background. So you might be asked when you are going to do the “UX work” in the product roadmap, as if this is one thing you do in a discrete period of time. When what the product owner is actually thinking about is a discrete set of tasks related to refining the color palette or restyling a button; i.e., UI, that can be slotted into a sprint ticket.
