I just read this stat in the Washington Post: Only 17 percent of the country’s wealth now belongs to the middle class.

Sadly, too many of the middle class seem to think that their wealth was transferred down to "those people" who "don't want to work."

Meanwhile, what's actually been happening is the wealth is being transferred up, to the billionaires that too many seem to want to defend as being "deserving" recipients, almost as if they imagine that with hard work they too can become billionaires. It's puzzling.
