I find this to be true among the teenagers I encounter in Falls Church VA. The parents who are wealthy enough to move here invest everything into the schools, often to the detriment of the needs of the rest of the citizenry. Lavish new schools with theaters, fancy gyms, etc. and the constant message from local elected officials about the schools conveys the message to these kids that they are the center of the city's universe, and many of them act like it in public.
