I do have multiple versions of my resume for different “end users” and different jobs.
The underlying issue is the disconnect between the parser platform, the recruiter, and the hiring manager.
Often times, a candidate never gets the opportunity to show the nicely designed resume to the hiring manager (by nicely designed, I mean columns, typographic formatting, etc., not infographics or similar).
Some parsers actually can’t handle non-standard fonts, let alone columns. I actually did quite a bit of research on optimizing formatting for parsers last year and I’ve seen how a parser mangled my resume, so I speak from unpleasant direct experience.
