Has anyone commenting here ever been in an environment where engineers set up a dev version of the site/app whereby the designers who have learned to code could actually go in and test out design changes using the installation’s css and html files? I’m not using the right terminology, I’m sure, but essentially, a testing install for UI development that doesn’t pull in dynamic data, but enables the designer to design new stuff in the code.

What I’ve found is that after my initial design of an app, using Sketch and exporting to Zeplin, when new features are added, I then had to try to make my design file UI match the UI rendered in code when designing a new feature or screen — or else put in a ginormous note that this screen doesn’t exactly match production rendering.

So it’s not only a headache for engineers, it’s a headache for designers.
