If I may say one thing: please, if you are a coder, don't go into UX design because you think it's "easier." While there are a few commonalities in coding and UX design (analytical thinking and problem solving), they are distinct fields. "Settling" for a UX design role to stay in tech is kind of insulting to people who have intentionally honed their skills in UX design.
