Funny, I've had the opposite experience recently. I go to a weekly fiber arts group at the library. It's almost entirely women, actually retired women as it's at 10am. Recently, a man has been coming and he does really cool quilts, but he just takes over the entire room of about 16 of us. He goes into excruciating repetitive detail about every quilt, where he got the fabric, and on and on. He puts the Tell into Show and Tell beyond all patience. It actually kills the vibe for me. There is one other woman there who I know now not to start chatting with because she just takes over and goes on and on and I no longer can have a conversational back and forth. But mostly, the women chat with their nearest neighbors.
