As a (now retired) UX designer, I felt ethically obligated to write alt-text. The UX Collective publication on Medium requires it, as they should. I often spend a few minutes trying to decide how to describe a piece of my art that is informative but succinct. I haven't stretched for literary yet, but perhaps I should!
