All the worker bee individual contributors sitting at their cubes, with their headphones on to block out noise weren't building F2F relationships. They were "talking" to each other via Slack. Now when we have meetings from our homes via Zoom, we actually talk to each other face to face.
And all the managers and higher ups were in their own private offices, on different floors, not mentoring anyone or even seeing the worker bees.
But, oh, somehow, all that crucial "in person" magic is being lost! Because the monthly bagel Friday where the big boss can see everyone in a conference room was vital to the whole "culture" of the company. Right.
